Our Mission

The West Hartford Special Education Parent Teacher Association (SEPTA) is a district-wide PTA (Pre-K to High School) that focuses on special education needs and issues in West Hartford. It is a local PTA organized under the authority of the Connecticut PTA, a branch of the National PTA.

West Hartford SEPTA’s mission is threefold; to educate, advocate and network.

Many parents have indicated that the information and support they have obtained from other members has been invaluable. While each child is unique and each program different, members and non-members alike have found similarities and picked up helpful information from each other. SEPTA provides a forum for learning and working together with parents, teachers, and administrators to extend and enhance educational programs for children with disabilities.
